Easter sweets

Here it is! The spicy recipe by  the food blogger Julia, who collaborates with Bake it!

Preparation time: 25 minutes + decoration

  • 150 g flour
  • 100 g semi-cold butter
  • 60 g sugar
  • 1 egg yolk
  • ½ grated lemon zest
  • 1-2 tbsp cold water
  • butter for mould as required

  • 320 g sieved icing sugar
  • 35 g filtered lemon juice
  • 35 g egg white
  • icing sugar, as required for thickening
  • powdered food colouring in red, orange, green, yellow, brown and blue

  1. In a bowl mix the flour and sugar.
  2. Cut in the butter in small pieces until crumbs are formed.
  3. Add the egg yolk and flavour with the lemon zest.
  4. Finish mixing, adding 1-2 tablespoons of cold water.
  5. Take pieces of shortcrust pastry and press them into the lightly buttered mould shapes.
  6. Place into the oven at 180°C for 16 minutes.
  7. Take out of the oven. After 5/10 minutes, carefully turn out the biscuits and place on the rack to cool.

  1. Beat the sugar with the egg white and the lemon juice using an electric whisk.
  2. Divide the icing between several small bowls and colour with the various food colourings.
  3. Decorate the biscuits with the icing, following the pattern of the mould and using a small brush to spread it.
  4. Allow to set. Thicken the remaining icing with icing sugar and put in a baking paper cone to complete the fine details of the decoration.
