Tuna pâté

A creative way to prepare one of the most classic appetizer...in a cat shape!

Preparation time: 40 minutes 

INGREDIENTI 

FOR 20/24 SLICES

  • 1300 g tuna in oil, drained
  • 220 g mayonnaise
  • 140 g fresh cream
  • 5 g leaf gelatin
  • Juice of ½ a lemon
  • Salt, pepper
  • Oil for the mould

FOR THE DECORATION

  • Mayonnaise and pesto, to taste
  • Cherry tomatoes, parsley
  • Oil, salt
  • Slices of toasted bread

PREPARATION

  1. Soak the leaf gelatin in cold water
  2. Place the tuna, lemon juice and mayonnaise in a food processor
  3. Add 100 g of cream and blend until smooth and even
  4. Pour the mixture into a bowl and season with salt and pepper
  5. Heat the remaining cream and dissolve the well squeezed out leaf gelatin
  6. Add to the tuna and mix well
  7. Brush the mould with a little oil, then fill it a little at a time, pressing the mixture down well as you add it
  8. Cover with cling film and leave to set in the fridge for around 4-6 hours (the pâté can be prepared the day before)
  9. Remove gently from the mould on to a plate and cut into slices. Spread on to the toast and using the mayonnaise and pesto, in two paper cones, draw on the cats' features. Serve with the sliced tomatoes dressed with oil and salt and garnished with parsley.
